Your Stories
This section is going to include stories I receive back from those who have had lovely responses to House of Angels gifts, or received support from the angels in a way which may give strength to others when reading about it.
About White Feathers
Lots of people have been touched by the white feathers we place in our keyrings and other gifts, and lots of people have a story to tell regarding the angels letting them know they are with them by leaving a white feather for them at just the right time. My good friend Jenne finds a feather and then she either hears from me or I turn up on her doorstep! (I hope the angels aren't warning her so that she can be out!)
I have been lucky enough to receive white feathers in this way myself. I can remember being in Florida on holiday with my parents just before I split up from my ex-husband. I had a room of my own and was thinking about ringing my husband to see if everything was Ok. Just as I was about to do this, I found a white feather sitting in the middle of the living room floor. I rang, and he wasn't in. I now know that he was visiting the lady he was soon to leave me for. I have had people who have asked my why they have not automatically had good luck after finding a feather in the way I did. I believe that the angels are there for you when you need them, so it can be more important that they let you know they are there when something not so good is about to happen than when there is good news on the way.
Kate's Story
As the first story we published was so special, and so full of hope, I have kept it on this section. when you read it, you will see why. Kate is an amazing lady, and a true inspiration. Kate has asked me to add a bit of extra detail to her story, so I have - using her words where I can.
I know Kate originally from work. She is a colourful character, hardworking and open to learn at a time of life when learning and new responsibilities can seem scary things. I remember visiting Kate in the Royal, when she needed to go for tests on her back because it was thought she had something wrong with her kidneys or something. Kate has asked me to add that she was in work, the date was May 2003, when she got a call from her GP to get to the hospital quick. They thought she had kidney failure. This turned out to be Retro Peritoneal Fibrosis, which was growing in her back and had choked her left kidney and was making moves on her right one. Kate was in the Royal for 7 months whilst they tried to find out whether it was malignant or not.
In October Kate started getting pain in her right leg that was so bad she could not 'sleep, eat or anything'. She continues, saying 'no-one took any notice of me, I was getting very weak and was in so much pain I almost did away with myself. As we got up for Xmas I was so ill. Then on 18th January 2004 my whole life fell apart. I got up in the morning and my face had dropped, no pain but my mouth and left eye had closed. At this point I went back to the Royal. They did not understand what was happening so they got the nero team in from Walton Hospital. It was then I went into their unit and after 3 days of tests I was told I had non-hodgkinson's lymphoma. Well, they told my family because I was so out of it by this time I did not understand what was going on. I was drugged up and very weak by this time. It was then they sent me to the cancer ward from my treatment. I was told later I had had the last rites.'
The second time I went to see Kate she was in Fazakerly Hospital in Liverpool. At this point she had just been told that she had 3 months to live. Kate kept me close to her during that visit, and at one point asked me if I could see angels and if I could see them with her. I told her honestly that I could see them with my heart rather than my eyes, and I knew that she was not on her own and they were with her right now. At the time, whilst this did seem to help Kate, I did not think to much of it. She had so much to deal with, and in her own amazing way was worrying about protecting those she loved from the harshness of what she had been told, as well as dealing with it herself.
I did not see Kate again for a good while, although I kept in touch with what was going on through her manager and friend Sandra. The next time I saw her was at an Angel Party in Sandra’s house – well more than three months later! On this occasion Kate had a very smart haircut as a result of her treatment, she was in a wheelchair and had her ‘bag’ with her. Unbelievably she was back at home. We had a lovely evening – and I gave Kate a reading. When she came in for her reading she told me that the conversation we had in the hospital was a turning point for her, and really helped her have faith that she was not on her own and could fight what was happening. I had no idea that the angels had been able to reach her in such a wonderful way and was really thrilled and humbled.
When I emailed and asked Kate if I could put her story on the website she asked me to be sure to say the following (which I have kept in her actual words):
‘the only reason I am still here is with the grace of God, because I do think that is the only reason I am still here. I remember you coming in to see me and telling me I had lots of angels around me. You have no idea how much that meant to me. I do believe I do have them with me. I know God sends them to the sick and they watch over you while you are alone and terrified in the night, they help you to sleep. This I know for sure because I asked them for help so many times and they always did help me.’
The angels are just a very small part of it where Kate is concerned though - Kate has an amazing faith and has wonderful strength within her, even when her body is weak her spirit is incredibly strong. It must be over two years since that second visit to the hospital. Kate’s specialist has told her she is a miracle and that they deliberately did not want to get close to her early on as they did not expect to her to live beyond the time given. Kate is the best example I have seen of great intent, positive thinking and determination manifesting what she wants. Kate wanted to go home and she went home. She wanted to go to Lourdes and she has been. She wanted to go back to work – and she is there, on a part time basis, but there all the same. I hope I am not making this all sound easy – this lady has been through the mill with regards to her health. She has also had to accept help from others when she much prefers to be the one giving the support.
Thank you Kate – for letting me tell your story as my first one on our new website. I know others will read it and take hope and strength from it.
It is funny, I was reading an angel book I bought at the festival last night, a section relating to the Angel of Hope. The book stated that there is always hope, and that sometimes it is our only lifeline and salvation. If we ask the angels to help us and have faith our request will be met, then there is always the possibility of a miracle. I think Kate is living proof of this.
